A prospective laboratory: how are the humanities being redrawn in the age of AI?

Not a course on tools.

A collective working space where each participant leaves with a concrete roadmap for their own practice.

The programme is built around the profiles of the group.

The theme of the 2026 Summer Intensive is Exploring the Humanities and AI: a four-day arc that moves from the philosophy and theory of posthuman AI (what it means to think, write, and know when intelligence can be partially outsourced) to the practical integration of AI into the daily work of humanities practitioners.

From epistemology to workflow. From critical posture to operational method. Through design thinking and collaborative prototyping.

Learning objectives

1. Construct a critical theoretical framework for AI in the humanities.
2. Identify what changes and what holds in one’s own practice.
3. Develop cognitive autonomy and strategic reading in an AI-saturated information environment.
4. Build connections between heterogeneous sources while maintaining an independent intellectual position.
5. Produce a concrete, personalised roadmap for AI integration.
6. Apply AI tools to writing, research, and curatorial work with documented workflows.

Programme

Day 1 · Mapping Where do we stand?

Theoretical framework, critical positioning, introduction to tools. What does it mean to think, write, and know when intelligence can be partially outsourced?

Day 2 · Exploration

What changes, what holds. Writing and research workshops, production, group exchange. Developing a hybrid human/AI workflow adapted to each participant’s practice.

Day 3 · Design

Redesigning one’s practice. Prototyping in sub-groups. Building cognitive autonomy: reading strategically, connecting sources, maintaining critical judgement under epistemic acceleration.

Day 4 · Restitution

Postures and trajectories. Presentations, critical debate, certificates. Each participant leaves with a documented roadmap for their own practice.

Target audience

Humanities practitioners at any career stage: researchers, curators, critics, archivists, cultural operators, independent practitioners.

Assessment

Production and presentation of a personalised AI integration roadmap on Day 4.

Certificate

Issued upon completion of the four-day programme.

Specialists

AI tools and practices specialists intervene across the programme, bringing perspectives from outside the humanities into dialogue with those working within them.

Prerequisites

Le programme est construit autour des profils du groupe.

Le thème de l’Intensif d’été 2026 est Explorer les humanités et l’IA : un arc de quatre jours qui va de la philosophie et de la théorie de l’IA posthumaine (ce que signifie penser, écrire et savoir quand l’intelligence peut être partiellement externalisée) à l’intégration pratique de l’IA dans le travail quotidien des praticiens des humanités.

De l’épistémologie au workflow. De la posture critique à la méthode opérationnelle. À travers le design thinking et le prototypage collaboratif.

Objectifs pédagogiques

1. Construire un cadre théorique critique pour l’IA dans les humanités.
2. Identifier ce qui change et ce qui tient dans sa propre pratique.
3. Développer l’autonomie cognitive et la lecture stratégique dans un environnement informationnel saturé par l’IA.
4. Construire des connexions entre des sources hétérogènes en maintenant une position intellectuelle indépendante.
5. Produire une feuille de route personnalisée et concrète pour l’intégration de l’IA.
6. Appliquer les outils IA à l’écriture, à la recherche et au travail curatorial avec des workflows documentés.
