Thinking, Writing and Knowing in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
This three-hour conference offers a critical exploration of the relationship between the humanities and artificial intelligence. Starting from a philosophical and theoretical reflection on AI and posthumanism, we will examine what it means to think, write, create and produce knowledge when certain dimensions of intelligence can be partially externalised to artificial systems.
The conference will address the transformations in the relationship to knowledge, authorship, creativity and interpretation brought about by generative AI. It will also move beyond the often polarised discourse between technological fascination and outright rejection of AI, in order to examine the epistemological, cultural and ethical questions that these technologies raise for practitioners in the humanities.
The second part will be devoted to a more practical dimension: how can AI be integrated critically, consciously and meaningfully into the daily practices of researchers, teachers, curators, artists and humanities professionals?
Through examples, tools and practical scenarios, we will explore how AI can become not only an instrument of production, but also an object of reflection, a partner in dialogue and a space for critical questioning.
